ACT MODEL RAILWAY SOCIETY
The layout depicts a section of suburban mail line somewhere in the leafy outskirts of Sydney, perhaps to the north but perhaps not – it certainly sees a remarkable variety of trains passing through.
Suburban electrics are frequent and passenger trains for country and interstate destinations manage to find a path through the intensive suburban timetable.
The line also carries some heavy goods trains from rural and mining parts of the state, some of which are used for load trials for brand new diesels built for other systems.
The beautifully maintained station garden rival the best on the North Shore line, traditional industry reminds us of the Western line and the small electric car shed supplements the four larger ones scattered around the system.
Road traffic is somewhat disrupted today around beautiful Durigal, but the trains, of course, run without a hitch.
