Thomas the Tank Engine

A Murray Railway Modellers project in progress. This layout is being built as a display for model railroading. It is based on the books Thomas the Tank Engine by the Rev. W Awdry and we are trying to capture the essence of the Island of Sodor where Thomas is based.

The layout is built on the HO T-Track standard which is a modular system that can be run on tables. This saves on complicated supports and allows for storage under a bed. If the layout needs to be extended, more modules can always be added if time and space permits.

It also shows what techniques can be used to build a model railway. It doesn’t have to be particularly time-consuming to build a fun layout or overly expensive. Take note of the layout this time round as we will add more details to layout of the next few years.
