ARTC INLAND RAIL Layout
This diorama represents the upgrades and modifications that will take place through the ARTC Inland Rail. Real measurements have been used for accuracy in a 1:160 scale.
N Scale is the second most popular scale in Australia. The main one being approx double the size which is HO - 1:87.
The diorama is not based off a real place. However, floor plans from realestate websites have been referenced. The buildings were then designed in Adobe Illustrator and lasered out
of black styrene sheets. The trains used are based on Australian prototype locos and are purchased from Gopher Models and Auscision in Australia and the well wagons are modified micro-trains well cars.
Re-painted with SMS Freight Rail Blue colour. Trees are from Ron’s Trees in Melbourne. With vehicles coming from Tomytec (Japan), Oxford Miniatures (UK) and Busch (Germany) all found online.
The track is Kato Unitrak which is a very simple strong track system. The diorama runs off a DC method where when you increase the power the trains move faster.
Signals are from Handmade Accessories.
